The National Renewable Energy Lab gave the participating students and faculty the privilege of viewing their highly advanced and secure facilities.

“NREL advances the science and engineering of energy efficiency, sustainable transportation, and renewable power technologies and provides the knowledge to integrate and optimize energy systems.”

NREL, having 40 years of advanced energy innovation, three national facilities, thirteen research programs, and an annual budget of 458 million dollars focuses on creative answers to today's energy challenges. More commonly by integrated energy systems that power our lives, breakthrough in fundamental science, and new clean technologies.



The Tour

We viewed the energy labs massive High Performance Computing Data Center, holding one of the largest computers in the world. we also got to see the ESIF Smart Power lab where their scientist test home appliances based on power, size, location, and climate of different homes in different areas.
